(Ames) Iowa State University College Officials have released a plan for returning to classes this fall.
Classes will begin much earlier than usual.
The plan includes; reconfigured classrooms, courses offered in multiple delivery options, and face coverings expected to be worn by students, and faculty, according to Iowa State University President Wendy Wintersteen.
Due to the fall semester, Iowa State University President Wendy Wintersteen shared several critical decisions today with students, faculty, and staff.
The following update and guidelines are listed below. These include:
· Beginning fall classes Monday, Aug. 17
· Ending fall classes Wednesday, Nov. 25; final exams with final exams on Saturday, Nov. 21, and Monday, Nov. 23 – Wednesday, Nov. 25 during the week of Thanksgiving
· Holding classes on Labor Day
· Reconfiguring classrooms and course delivery to reduce the number of students in a class, and on campus, at any one time
· Offering courses in multiple delivery options – in-person, online, or using a hybrid approach – to meet the needs of both students and instructional faculty
· Offering both single and double occupancy in university residence halls
· Planning for testing and contact tracing
· Expecting all campus community members to show care for each other by wearing face coverings, following physical distancing and hygiene guidelines, and cleaning frequently
