(Creston) A motorcycle driver suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Union County.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at 4:24 p.m. on Saturday, at the intersection of 170th and Port Road. Authorities say the motorcycle driver, 24-year old Dylan Daniel Meggison, of Creston sustained injuries in the crash.
The Sheriff’s Office says 20-year old Joshua Orin Cox, of Redding, Iowa, driving a 2011 Jeep Liberty Sport, became distracted by the GPS on his cellphone, along with falling packages caused by a bump in the road. Cox failed to see Meggison operating a 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle traveling down a hill. Cox turned left in front of Meggison, causing the bike to crash into the Jeep Liberty.
Medic 1 transported Meggison to the Greater Regional Hospital in Creston. Cox escaped injury.
