(Missouri Valley) Six people suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Harrison County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 7:25 p.m. on Monday on Highway 30 east of 9th Street in Missouri Valley. Authorities identified the injured persons as; 21-year old Milagros Ruby Lopez, of Omaha, and his four passengers; 25-year old Armando Rodriquez, of Omaha, 19-year old Kevin Suria, of Bellevue, Nebraska, 19-year old Kevin Lucio, of Omaha, and 18-year old Hector Jose De Jesus Ramirez, of Omaha.
LifeNet Helicopter transported Lopez to Bergen Mercy Hospital, and Missouri Valley EMS transported Suria and Rodriguez to Bergan Mercy and Lucio and Ramirez to the Missouri Valley Hospital. A family member transported the other driver, identified as 35-year old Stephanie Renee Martindale of Turin, Iowa, to a local hospital to treat minor injuries.
According to the preliminary report, Lopez’s westbound Chevy Impala failed to navigate a curve, crossed the center line, and struck an eastbound 2012 GMC Yukon driven by Stephanie Martindale.
The accident remains under investigation.
