(Walnut) The Walnut City Council issued the green light to re-open City Hall. The Council met virtually on Thursday evening. City Clerk Shannon Wood wanted to issue an apology to the public, for those attempting to join the meeting remotely.
City Clerk Shannon Wood says City Hall will open on Monday; the Community Center is back open for rental. Wood says details on re-opening the Fitness Center are under consideration, and the parks are open to the public. The Splash Pad remains closed; otherwise, everything else has re-opened. I’m excited to open up,” stated Wood. “It’s been a while since I’ve talked to anybody.”
In other business, the City Council agreed to close one block of Walnut Street for tonight and tomorrow for the Chalk Art Event. Additionally, the Council voted to raise water deposits and water recommendations fees.
