(Atlantic) This Saturday’s rebroadcast features the October 18, 2019, high school football game between Shenandoah and Atlantic at Trojan Bowl.
This was a special night for the Trojan players and fans for a couple of reasons. The contest was the final game at Trojan Bowl before the renovation, and it was a record setting night for Atlantic senior running back Tyler Moen. Moen needed 200 yards to break the single-season rushing record at Atlantic.
Tyler Moen remembers Head Coach Mike McDermott’s message to him before the game.
Moen took Coach McDermott’s message to heart, and rushed for 523-yards on 31-carries, which ranks second all-time in Iowa history. Moen admits, he had a lot of help from the guys up front.
Moen scored on runs of 76, one, five, 92, and 77 yards along with the two interceptions for touchdowns. Colin Mullenix’s 29-yard TD catch accounted for the other Trojan score.
The Trojans piled up 600-yards of total offense, 545 rushing and 55-yards passing, and won the game 55-25.
The game will be re-aired on Saturday, May 30, starting at 9:00 a.m.
