(Omaha) The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a Flash Flood Watch for portions of southwest Iowa including Fremont, Mills, Montgomery, and Page Counties, from this afternoon through Monday morning.
Heavy rain has saturated soils over parts of eastern Nebraska the past few days. Soils are not quite as wet in southwest Iowa. Rainfall amounts from 1 to 3 inches will be possible in the watch area, and isolated amounts of over three-inches could occur.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
