(Des Moines) Iowa is one of ten states earning the top grade for the quality of COVID-19 data reporting. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds says, “they’re raising the bar even higher.”
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds says the coronavirus.iowa.gov data dashboard will now have updated case counts available real-time throughout the day.
The other noticeable improvements include a trend line for the percent of all positive COVID-19 tests compared to the total number of people tested on any given day. Additionally, a trend line for those testing positive by county, and the ratio of persons tested by county, and positive case volumes by county over a 14-day, and rolling three-day average.
The new data includes serology testing data and positive tests by county. A long term care dashboard is reporting current outbreaks, positive cases, and individuals who have recovered. The new data also includes a breakdown of positive cases by those who are symptomatic versus those individuals asymptomatic. And positive cases by race, ethnicity, gender, and age group.
The Iowa Department of Public Health has also implemented a new dedicated call center for Test Iowa which is up and running. The call center staffed with nurses can assist Iowans, who completed an assessment or tested positive and have questions about the process. Or issues with getting their results, or what to do if they tested positive. The number is on the website within the assessment. Individuals can still call 2-1-1 with any other questions.
