(Des Moines) A brief shower swept through the region Tuesday evening, resulting in rainfall amounts of less than one-tenth of an inch in most locations south of Highway 20.
Atlantic received .08, Carroll and Clarinda, .03, and Denison received .02.
The National Weather Service forecasts a 20-percent chance of rain later today, a 40-percent chance of showers Saturday night, and Sunday morning. The extended forecast shows a 50-percent chance of showers on Monday afternoon and a 40-percent chance of showers on Tuesday.
The temperatures will range from upper 60’s, low 70’s, and 80 on Saturday. The soil temperature is 59 to 60 degrees at the 4 inch depth in southwest and west-central Iowa.
