(Johnston) Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds at Tuesday’s daily briefing reported seven outbreaks at Iowa long term health care facilities.
The infected facilities’ location is in each of the 22 restricted counties. The outbreaks occurred at the Granger Nursing and Rehab Center in Dallas County, Dubuque Specialty Care in Dubuque County, Park Center and Newton West, both in Jasper County, Iowa Veterans Home in Marshall County, Fleur Heights for Wellness Rehab and University Park Nursing and Rehab, both in Polk County.
On Wednesday, a second test Iowa site is opening at the Crossroads Mall in Waterloo. For now, the testing is for Iowa’s essential workers, and individuals with symptoms of COVID-19, contact with someone with the virus, or recently in an area where COVID-19 is more widespread.
The Governor encourages Iowan’s to go testiowa.com and fill out the assessment. The Iowa Department of Public Health will assign an appointment for those individuals who qualify for testing.
