(Des Moines) The National Weather Service issued a Wind Advisory for all of southwest Iowa from 1:00 p.m. this afternoon to 4:00 a.m. on Monday.
North winds of 20-to-30 miles per hour with gusts up to 45-miles per hour are forecast for the region, along with some minor icing.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Blown down tree limbs may cause power outages.
The weather is forecast to be much worse in the northwest and northern portions of Iowa, where a winter storm warning remains in effect through early Monday morning. The National Weather Service is forecasting snow totals of 4-to-9 inches and gusty winds of 40-to-50 miles per hour.
