(Des Moines) Those needing to travel this morning may run into icy roads in the southwest and west-central Iowa. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 4:00 p.m. for all of west and north-central Iowa.
Forecasters say scattered rain showers will fall into a subfreezing air mass today across western and many portions of northern Iowa, resulting in some ice accumulation on powerlines. Road temperatures are also falling below freezing, and this may result in some icy road
conditions for this morning`s commute. It’s going to be windy today, with gusts as high as 35 miles per hour.
Hazardous driving conditions should improve throughout the day. The precipitation, which may end as light snow with just a dusting expected, will come to an end from west to east from later this morning into this evening.
