(Audubon) The Audubon School Board approved the FY21 School calendar, bargaining agreement and snow makeup days at their meeting Wednesday.
Superintendent Eric Trager said the FY21 Calendar has school starting August 24th and the last day is May 18th.
“We’re running a pretty consolidated calendar next year as we will have construction taking place in the summer of 2021, so we’re trying to get our 180 days in as soon as we possibly can,” said Trager.
Due to two state football playoff days and 3 or 4 snow days to add on the end of this school year, the last day for Audubon is June 3rd barring any further issues with the weather.
In other action, the school board awarded the low bid to Carol Refuse for garbage collection; they set April 6th at 7:00 p.m. for the Budget Hearing; and approved the bargaining agreement with the Audubon Education Association at a 3.25 percent total package increase.
The board also approved two contracts for Teacher Leadership positions. Molly Lange will be the new Secondary Instructional Coach; she is taking over for Sue Hawkins who is retiring at the end of the year. Megan Kjergaard is taking a new Interventionist position; that will be a half time position and she will also be a half time Title teacher.
