(Atlantic) The Cass County Board of Supervisors this morning approved a contribution and a loan ($25,000 each) from the Local Option Sales Tax Fund to Southwest Iowa Mental Health Center/Zion Recovery to help with the purchase of a building.
Supervisor John Hartkopf said Crossroads accepted the offer from Southwest Iowa Mental Health Center and Zion Recovery to purchase the building located on South Olive Street.
Hartkopf explained that Southwest Iowa Mental Health has been tied to the hospital for years and there has been a plan to split the two up and so Zion has taken over and they will merge together as one unit eventually.
Hartkopf said they are at a critical time because Zion has also taken over the Hope Wellness Center in Dallas County and Genesis Development.
Cass County Memorial Hospital, Cass County, and Southwest Iowa Region are all contributing to this financially.
