(Atlantic) Several area agencies are working on forensic training at the Atlantic Fire Department. Today was the final day of the three-day training that focuses on crime scene processing, footwear, DNA evidence, blood stains and more.
Dr. Michael McCutcheon with Forensic Education is leading the training.
Dr. McCutcheon said there are many elements that go into crime scene processing. He said in the end you want to be able to charge an appropriate person, but it’s not always looking for who committed a crime, it’s also looking at who may not have committed a crime.
There were 22 people from 10 to 15 different agencies participating in the training.
