(Council Bluffs) Council Bluffs Police are searching for a man involved in a robbery and a carjacking. The suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous.
Police says the suspect climbed into a gray Dodge Ram pickup at the Tractor Supply Store. The fleeing man pulled a gun on the store employees when they tried to intervene. The suspect fled the scene southbound in the truck. As Officers were responding, they received a report of a carjacking at Heartland Christian School.
The adult male victim said the suspect claimed he was jumped and needed a ride. The victim initially refused because he was picking up his children. The suspect then displayed a handgun and fled in the victims Chevy Suburban westbound on Veterans Highway, and then turned northbound toward westbound Interstate 80. Officers caught up with the fleeing vehicle but soon lost sight. The Suburban was eventually found abandoned at 2740 S. 9th Street. Omaha Police launched the Able 1 Helicopter and K-9 units. However, the suspect is still at-large. None of the victims were injured during the robberies.
