(Wiota) Firefighters from Wiota, Anita, Cumberland, and Massena battled a machine shed fire Friday night.
Wiota Fire Chief Mitch Boysen tells KSOM/KS95 News the call went out at 9:17 p.m. at 71788 Jackson Road southeast of Wiota. Upon their arrival, the structure was completely engulfed in flames. Boysen says it appears the blaze started in the center of the building. The fire destroyed the shed as well as some farm machinery located inside the burning structure.
The cause of the fire was undetermined at the time of this release.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Cass County Emergency Management Director Mike Kennon, and Anita Rescue assisted the four fire departments at the scene.
