(Corning) One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Adams County.
The Iowa State Patrol says it happened at around 1:20 p.m. on Thursday, at the intersection of Highway 34 and Highway 148. State Police say 64-year old Jerome Koester, of Coon Rapids, was killed in the crash.
According to the report, Koester was driving a 2013 Dodge Caravan at a stop sign near the intersection and for unknown reasons, failed to yield and entered Highway 34. Koester’s van was struck by a westbound 2006 Peterbilt semi driven by 47-year old Travis Dukes, of Lenox.
The accident is under investigation.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Adams County EMS and Corning Fire and Rescue.
