(Council Bluffs) A Council Bluffs man was arrested on charges of Attempted Murder and Willful Injury.
The Council Bluffs Police Department says officers were dispatched to the area of North 20th Street and Avenue C in Council Bluffs at 1:38 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a stabbing. It is alleged that two males were in an altercation inside a residence and the suspect used a sharp instrument to stab the victim in the neck and cheek.
The suspect, identified as 39-year-old John D. Zardus, immediately fled the area and was apprehended several blocks away without further incident. The victim, 39-year-old Jarod K. Mowery of Council Bluffs, received medical treatment at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. His injuries were not considered life threatening.
Zardus was transported to Corrections and booked in.
