(Hamlin) Rescue crews responded to a combine accident east of Hamlin.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at around 8:36 p.m. Monday evening on 240th Street and Pheasant Avenue.
According to the report; Brent Chambers, 30 of Hamlin was driving a westbound 2019 John Deere S780 combine with a corn head attached to the front and pulling the corn head trailer behind. Chambers told authorities when he came upon a one-lane bridge without railings or markers, and as he began to cross the bridge he felt the bridge floor give way. He attempted to lower the corn head, and the south side of the bridge collapsed causing the combine to overturn in the creek. The machine came to rest on the driver’s side. There was no report of injuries.
