Cerro Gordo County Man injured in Car Vs Pedestrian Accident

(Mason City) A Mason City man was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries after he was struck by a car.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened on Friday evening at 4^th Street SE and S. Birch Drive in Mason City. Authorities say the injured pedestrian is identified as 72-year-old Robert Dean Peters.

According to the report, 16-year-old Marley Sue Becker of Mason City was driving a 2003 Toyota Corolla westbound on 4^th Street and struck Robert Peters, who was attempting to cross the roadway.

A Mason City ambulance transported Becker to Mercy One Hospital to treat his injuries.
