(Audubon) Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics will sponsor a free suicide prevention education program next month.
The program, titled Talk Saves Lives, will be presented by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Iowa Chapter on Tuesday, November 17, at the Audubon Rec Center. Shelli Brown is a behavioral health provider with ACMH.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the presentation is scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. Brown will provide the introduction.
Brown says Amara Huffine, Iowa area director for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, will lead the presentation. She says the program is designed for adults ages 18 and older and will focus on recognizing suicide risk factors and warning signs, having safe and caring conversations, and connecting individuals with appropriate resources and support.
Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics is sponsoring the free, evidence-informed program to increase suicide prevention awareness throughout the community.
Light appetizers, including pizza, will be provided.
