(Neola, IA) — Tri Center will try to advance to the Class 2A, Regional 2 Finals but they need to beat Western Iowa Conference rival Missouri Valley tonight.
The Trojans beat another familiar foe AHSTW in the quarters in three straight 10, 20, and 12. Head Coach Taylor Smith does not want his team to rely too much on offensive leader Senior Tess Casey who has 346 kills plus Sophomore Teri Leaders with 218 kills. Smith wants the ball spread around and that means giving the Harder girls more chances — the Sophomores Lauren and Haley have 116 and 114 kills respectively
The Trojans have played the Lady Reds twice this season — losing 2-1 in a tournament in mid September but winning their regular season match up 3-1. Mo Valley is led by Senior Khloee Stoops with 432 kills and Sophomore Dilynn Meyer with 302 kills. Smith says it could turn into a shootout
Missouri Valley is 26-12; Tri Center is 18-14. The winner will meet either top seeded Grundy Center or South Hamilton in the Regional Finals.
