(Oakland, IA) — In Class 2A, Region 4, two conference rivals meet for a berth in the Regional Finals as Logan Magnolia visits Riverside; coverage on KSOM.
The two teams met back on September 10 and the Bulldogs got a three game sweep 25-8, 25-16, and 25-20. Lo Ma Head Coach Steve Field says his team has improved so much since then. He says they did not have their leading hitter Lindsay Kastner available during the conference tournament — she was sick — but she came back to help the Panthers sweep Underwood in the quarterfinals — 16, 15, and 23. Kastner has 255 kills and Hadley Fetter — both seniors — has 223 kills.
This game features two very good setters — Ashley Kelley has 896 which ranks 8th in the entire state. The Panthers have a Freshman Morgan Van Iten who has 709 assists. Field says she is surrounded by experience and has flourished
Field says his team has come a long way since they last played Riverside
Riverside swept West Central Valley in the quarters 10, 9 and 17. Kelley had 34 assists and has already smashed the school record of 736 which is a big deal says Bulldogs Head Coach Brooke Flathers
Flathers does not like to talk about her opponent but she knows the Panthers will come ready to play
