(Anita) The CAM volleyball team continues its postseason run tonight when the Cougars travel to face Ankeny Christian. CAM has won six consecutive sets in postseason play, sweeping Murray in the opening round and Earlham in the quarterfinals.
CAM Head Coach Hillary Zimmerline says her team is peaking at the right time.
Zimmerline says the Cougars’ net play has stood out in their first two postseason victories. Ada Hansen leads CAM with 42 blocks, while Morgan Will has recorded 29.
Ruthie Rich leads the Cougars with 239 kills, followed by Hansen with 175. Zimmerline says both players are leading by example.
CAM faces an Ankeny Christian team that plays fast. Zimmerline says matching that speed will be one of the Cougars’ biggest challenges, while playing with confidence will also be important against the Eagles tonight.
Havanna Dolbear leads Ankeny Christian at the net with 351 kills, followed by Breeze Bentz with 194 and Liv Nehring with 122. The Eagles enter the matchup with an 89.7 percent serve percentage.
We will have coverage on KS95.7 F.M. The pre-match coverage starts at 6:40. The first serve is at 7:00 p.m.
