Fatal Car vs Motorcycle Accident in Lee County

(Lee Co.) A Fort Madison man died following a car vs motorcycle accident in Lee County Friday morning.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 6:14 a.m. in the 5000 block of Avenue O. 51-year-old Reginald Range of Burlington was driving a 2001 Chevy Impala westbound on Avenue O in Fort Madison, making a left hand turn into a private driveway. Range failed to yield to an eastbound 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by 39-year-old Ian Eaves of Fort Madison. The motorcycle struck the Impala in the eastbound lanes. Both vehicles came to rest in the roadway.

Ian Eaves was killed in the accident.

The accident remains under investigation.
