Ames Police Investigating Vehicle Submerged In Water With Person Inside
(Ames, IA) — Ames Police are still investigating after a car became fully submerged in water with a person inside Sunday afternoon. Officers and witnesses found a truck in the water with a person inside just before 12:30 p.m. The vehicle then became fully submerged with the person still inside. The Story County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, Ames Fire Department and Mary Greeley Medical Center assisted at the scene.
City Of Carlisle Still Without Water After Water Main Break Last Week, City Working On Solution
(Carlisle, IA) — The City of Carlisle is still without water, days after a water main break. In a release Sunday afternoon, the City said the main break that caused the water interruption is repaired, and it’s working with experts from the DNR, Des Moines Water Works and Indianola Municipal Utilities to inspect its water tower and locate any potential leaks. The City says it’s still unsure when the water tower will be full. Once water is restored, a boil advisory will be in place for at least two days.
Iowa-Based Casey’s Opening 31 New Stores In 10 States
(Ankeny, IA) — Iowa-based Casey’s is opening 31 new convenience stores across 10 Midwest and Southern states. The openings include four new stores in Iowa in Ankeny, Waukee, Wilton and Elkader [[ ell-KAY-duhr ]]. The convenience store chain currently operates almost three-thousand stores in 19 states, and says it wants to open 400 more stores over three years. All of the newly-announced locations are expected to open by January 2027.
