(Atlantic) Atlantic linebacker Carter Hadley played a key role in Atlantic’s 33-7 win over Perry last Friday night in a Class 3A District #6 football game. The senior led the defense with 13.5 tackles. For his performance, Hadley is this week’s KS95 Armour Insurance Trojan Athlete of the Week.
Hadley credits the defensive line and adding another linebacker to the formation with helping him get to the ball.
Besides the 13.5 tackles, Hadley made some key plays throughout the game, including three tackles for loss.
Hadley is the team’s second-leading tackler with 40 tackles, 29 solos, and 8.5 tackles for loss. Atlantic Defensive Coordinator Lee Saathoff says Hadley knows where he should be when the ball is snapped and plays downhill.
Saathoff says Hadley is a leader, in addition to his playing ability.
Atlantic is 4-2 overall, and 2-0 in district play heading into Friday night’s home game against Greene County. The kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. at Trojan Bowl.
