(Glenwood) The Shenandoah Boys’ Cross Country team claimed the team title at the Glenwood Invitational Cross Country Meet on Monday. The Mustangs placed two runners in the top ten, and scored 108 points. Logan-Magnolia finished a close second with 118, and Kuemper finished one step behind in third with 119.
Nineteen teams completed the race; Council Abraham Lincoln finished fourth with 128, Glenwood, fifth, 144, Red Oak, sixth, 155, St. Albert, seventh, 177, Atlantic, eighth, 193, Bishop-Heelan, ninth, with 225, and Boyer Valley rounded out the top ten with 239 points.
Haven Weers of Tri-Center won the individual title in 15:56.60. Emmanuel Grass of Red Oak finished second in 16:08.40, followed by A.L.’s Evan Lillie in third at 16:16.08. Logan-Magnolia’s Jacob Sporrer placed fourth in 16:18.80, while teammate Landon Thayer was fifth in 16:25.80. Red Oak’s Hayden Hietbrink finished sixth in 16:37.60, followed by Atlantic’s Mason Betts in seventh at 16:52.20. Jackson Walter of St. Albert placed eighth in 16:56.60, Shenandoah’s Mason Sells was ninth in 16:59.90, and teammate Carter Buttry rounded out the top 10 in 17:07.30.
Rounding out the top 15 were Glenwood’s Deagan Stanley in 11th at 17:07.60, Alex Amaro in 12th at 17:17.60, Harlan’s Erik Heslink in 13th at 17:19.00, Tri-Center’s Carson Cochran in 14th at 17:30.60, and Kuemper’s Hayden Krieger in 15th at 17:30.90.
One hundred individuals competed in the race.
