(Creston, IA) — Nodaway Valley Boys Cross Country team finished in 2nd place at the Panther Invitational on Tuesday. Creston won both the girls and boys team standings on their home course — the Panther boys had 39 points with Nodaway Valley at 47 while the Panther girls had 42 points with Earlham in 2nd with 62.
Junior Gabe Winkelmann had the best finish for the Wolverines in 5th place (16:45.9); Senior Paul Kading was 10th (17:38.3); Senior Haden Colton was 12th (17:52.6); Junior Jack Berg was 25th; and Sophomore Everett Ehler 27th.
Red Oak’s Emmanuel Grass led the Tigers to a 3rd place finish with 90 points and finished in first place individually at (16:09.0). Ryder Baird of Creston was 2nd at 16:34.2 and Hayden Hietbrink of Red Oak was third at 16:41.3.
Landon McKnight of CAM finished in 24th (18:34.1). Brody Truman of Southwest Valley finished 58th. There were 122 boys runners.
On the girls side, the Panthers took the top three spots withe Reese Strunk the winner (20:11.9), Harper Wilson 2nd (20:31.3) and Ruby Carroll 3rd (20:46.4).
Micayla Lillard of CAM finished 27th (24:00.3). Bailey Breheny of Nodaway Valley finished 26th (23:54.9).
Malory Jenkins of Red Oak was 5th (21:31.5). There were 68 total girls runners.
