(Audubon, IA) — Last Friday, Audubon’s Ty Bowlin — a converted offensive lineman — scored his first varsity touchdowns — one on offense and one on defense and for that he is the GG Harris Farm Bureau KSOM Athlete of the Week.
In the 2nd quarter on Friday night, Audubon was leading CAM 21-0 when they decided to throw the football. QB Aiden Kjergaard threw it across the middle and Bowlin made his first ever varsity catch as Kjergaard put right out in front of him which Bowlin caught on his finger tips — he raced the rest of the way for a 29 yard TD catch. Moments later, CAM fumbled it on their next possession and Bowlin was there to pick it up and run it 10 yards for another TD.
Bowlin says Audubon has a great offense
Bowlin says it was a little nerve wracking when the ball was thrown his way but it means a lot for him to make the play
Kjergaard had only thrown seven passes in the first three games but he was 7 of 12 against CAM for 117 yards and 3 TD.
Overall, Bowlin says it is a positive experience when he takes the field for the Wheelers
