(Lewis) Iowa Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Biologist John Lorenzen says the DNR stocked Channel Catfish in numerous lakes and county ponds across southwest Iowa this past week.
In Pottawattamie County, Channel Catfish were stocked at Lake Manawa, Arrowhead Lake, Farm Creek, Riepe Pond, and Big Lake.
In Harrison County, the fish were stocked at Willow Lake and Schaben Pond.
In Shelby County, stocking took place at Prairie Rose Lake, three ponds in Harlan, and Nishna Bend.
In Cass County, the DNR stocked Channel Catfish at Cold Springs, Anita, several ponds at Schildberg Recreation Area, Conklin Fish Farm, a pond at the Nodaway Wildlife Area, and the Cass County Education Pond.
Lorenzen says 130 Channel Catfish were stocked in Pond One near the dog park at Schildberg Recreation Area, while 540 fish were stocked in Pond Three, near the boat ramp.
