(Adair Co.) Mitch Steffes, construction manager with MidAmerican Energy, provided an update on construction projects to the Adair County Board of Supervisors this morning.
Steffes said significant progress has been made since construction began in April on the Orient Energy Center project.
Steffes hit on some key milestones…
As for the Adair replacement wind turbines, Steffes said all temporary infrastructure needed for deliveries has been completed, and all turbine foundations have been poured and completed.
Steffes also clarified information about a transmission line that is currently being discussed. He said the transmission line is being built at the same time and in the general area as the Orient Energy Center, but it is not being built specifically for the project.
Steffes said the transmission line is part of a much larger regional development initiative through MISO.
In other news, the Adair County Board of Supervisors appointed Ryan Benn as interim county attorney and administered the Attorney Oath of Office.
Benn takes over after Melissa Larson announced her resignation following her appointment by Governor Kim Reynolds as a district associate judge in Judicial District 5A.
