(Guthrie Center, IA) — On Saturday, AC/GC’s Hitter Stella Largent went over 1,500 career kills and for that she is the GG Harris Farm Bureau KSOM Athlete of the Week.
Largent started the week winning two games last Tuesday against Madrid and Ogden and on Thursday beat Panorama in four sets as Largent pounded out 29 kills against their arch rivals. On Saturday, the Chargers went 4-2 with wins over Denison Schleswig, Diagonal, Griswold and Southwest Valley and losses against AHSTW and Riverside — Largent totaled 65 kills and 13 aces in the six matches including 20 kills against the Timberwolves.
Despite her great offensive numbers, Largent has been working on other things besides her hitting
Largent hopes to play volleyball at the college level one day because she developed a passion for it early
Largent knows she will not be able to get big numbers of kills each and every night; the Chargers will need to get other players to get more involved and Largent says they just need the time and experience
AC/GC is now 14-2 on the season and will host 11-3 Pleasantville tonight.
Stella Largent is the GG Harris Farm Bureau KSOM Athlete of the Week.
