(Atlanta, GA) — The cyclosporiasis outbreak has come to an end. The CDC announced today that the largest ever outbreak of the foodborne illness sickened nearly 20-thousand people overall.
Health officials linked it to shredded iceberg lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms in Mexico. It fueled the worst cyclosporiasis season in U.S. history, and included two deaths, both in the epicenter of the biggest outbreak in Michigan.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says their investigation and related activities remain ongoing.
