(Des Moines) Des Moines Christian’s 2-0 start to the season mirrors last year’s. The Lions have wins under their belt over Van Meter, 34-17, and last week, Roland-Story, 21-15. This week it’s a home game against Atlantic.
Des Moines-Christian Head Coach Matt Daniels credits the maturity of the senior leadership with the Lions’ strong start to the season.
Senior running back Davis Tokeim is off to a good start with 51 carries for an average of 8.9 yards per carry. Coach Daniels says Tokeim is much more mature and has a lot of experience.
The offensive line includes a couple of players that have a lot of experience, such as seniors Cade Fadden, 6’5, 270, and Cooper Handsaker, 6’1, 245.
The Lions face a physical and talented Atlantic squad tonight. The Trojans are coming off a 36-7 win over Denison-Schleswig.
