(Clarion) Four people suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Wright County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened on Tuesday, at around 10:30 a.m., on 265th Street and Hancock Avenue.
Authorities identified the injured persons as 17-year-old Cooper Reiland of Belmond, Iowa; 16-year-old Armando Melendez of Clarion, Iowa; 49-year-old Daniel Oldenkamp of Clarion, Iowa; and Clay Riedesel of Wesley, Iowa.
According to the report, Reiland was driving an eastbound 2010 Ford Edge on 265th Street, and Oldenkamp was operating a 2019 Freightliner southbound on Hancock Avenue. Authorities say Reiland failed to yield at the stop sign and was struck broadside by the Freightliner. Both vehicles came to rest in the east ditch near a cornfield.
The four injured persons were transported by Clarion EMS to Iowa Specialty Hospital.
The accident remains under investigation.
