(Red Oak) Red Oak School District officials announced on the school district’s social media page on Monday that, due to an air-conditioning issue at Inman Elementary School, all Red Oak Community School District classes will be canceled tomorrow.
“While the issue is limited to Inman Elementary, we understand that many older students may need to care for younger siblings when school is canceled. To best support our families, we believe a districtwide cancellation is the most practical option.”
“The National Weather Service is forecasting hazardous heat tomorrow, with heat index values expected to reach 105 to 108 degrees. Under these conditions, classrooms without air conditioning would not provide a safe or comfortable environment for students and staff or support effective teaching and learning.
“We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding. Our team is working to resolve the air-conditioning issue as quickly as possible. We will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
