(Atlantic) The Atlantic boys’ and girls’ cross country teams are coming off a strong performance at Webster last week and look to build off of that on Tuesday morning in Clarinda.
The girls’ team, led by Gabriel Engler and Kaitlyn Hickman, finished 3rd in the purple division and 4th overall. The boys finished fifth in the purple division, led by Mason Betts’ top-ten finish and support from Thomas Engler and Gage Schroeder. (Pronounced Schray-der).
Atlantic Head Coach Dan Vargason says the meet is moving to the morning to beat the heat.
Coach Vargason says the schedule has shuffled the lineup of teams, and he admits he is not completely sure which teams will run in this meet at this point. He says they are going to treat the meet similarly to their approach last week at Webster City.
Vargason says another point of emphasis is the mental side of the sport.
The Middle School race starts at 9:00 a.m, varsity girls at 9:45, and the varsity boys start at 10:15 at Clarinda.
