(Anita, IA) — CAM and Coon Rapids Bayard open up 8 Man District 9 action on Friday night in Anita.
CAM is coming off a wild 50-48 win over Fremont Mills. The Knights led early and the Cougars came back; the Cougars led in the 2nd half and the Knights came back. CAM had a thrilling goal line stand to prevent Fremont Mills from scoring. The Knights rushed for over 300 yards in the game but Head Coach Nick Kauffman says his rotation on the defensive line was able to be the difference
Kason Calhoun led the defense with 12 tackles and Kayden Winther had 9 tackles. On offense, Zach Kauffman was 15 of 22 passing for 226 yards, 3 TD and no INT plus ran for 94 yards and three more scores. Dad and Coach Kauffman says Zach is more of a dual threat

One thing Kauffman would like to see from his football team is to play better in the first quarter
Coon Rapids Bayard is 1-1 after a 56-52 loss to Kingsley Pierson in Week Zero but they turned it around last week in a 68-0 win over Twin Cedars. Sophomore QB Tucker Lewis only threw for 67 yards, he had 3 TD but 2 INT and did run it 11 times for 109 yards and 2 TD. Sophomore Andrew McAlister added 9 carries for 98 yards and 3 scores. The Crusaders had 4 turnovers from the Sabers so Head Coach Nathan Lindsay was pleased
