(Coon Rapids) A child sustained life-threatening injuries after being run over by a vehicle Monday evening in Coon Rapids.
According to the Coon Rapids Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. Authorities say a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, operated by 27-year-old Emily Mauricio of Coon Rapids, did not see the toddler in the vehicle’s path.
Family members immediately administered CPR to the child until medical first responders arrived and provided treatment at the scene.
The child was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Omaha.
The Coon Rapids Police Department, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Coon Rapids Fire Department and Carroll County EMS responded to the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
