(Atlantic) Braxton Scholl of the Benton Franklin 4-H Club had a standout day in the 4-H Dairy Goat Show at the Cass County Fair on Saturday, exhibiting both the Champion and Reserve Champion Dairy Goat. Scholl also earned Overall Champion Showman honors.
Scholl continued his success in the breeding doe classes, showing the Champion Junior Breeding Doe. Karley Byers of the Pleasant Noble 4-H Club earned the reserve championship. Scholl also exhibited the Champion Yearling Breeding Doe, while Landon Chaney of the Grant Guys and Gals 4-H Club claimed the reserve champion honors.
In the Supreme Champion 4-H Breeding Doe competition, Scholl earned the championship, with Chaney finishing as the reserve champion.
Natalyn Smith of the Griswold Clubsters received Champion Home-Raised Meat Goat honors, while Karley Byers earned the reserve championship.
Ashten Hagen of the Grant Guys and Gals 4-H Club exhibited the Champion Purchased Meat Goat. Larena Amos of the Griswold Clubsters showed the Reserve Champion. Hagen later returned to the ring to claim Supreme Champion 4-H Meat Goat, with Laena Amos exhibiting the Reserve Supreme Champion.
Emily Orstad of the Griswold Clubsters showed the Champion Top-Gaining 4-H Meat Goat, while Eden Ohms earned the reserve championship.
Karley Byers of the Pleasant Noble 4-H Club exhibited the Champion Senior Breeding Doe, with Clay Freese of the Union Leaders 4-H Club earning Reserve Champion honors.
The senior meat goat showman was Oliver Becker of the Union Leaders; Ryanna Harrison of the Griswold Clubsters was reserve; and Braxton Scholl topped the intermediate showman. The Runner-up was Laena Amos, and Natlayn Smith of the Griswold Clubsters finished as the runner-up.
FFA members showcased their livestock during the Cass County Fair, earning top honors in breeding ewe, meat goat, and showmanship competitions.
Faithlynn Scholl of the Atlantic FFA chapter was named Grand Champion FFA Breeding Doe and also claimed Cass County Overall Reserve Champion Meat Goat Showman. Faithlynn Scholl added another title by exhibiting the supreme Cass County Breeding Doe, and Braxton Showed the reserve Supreme Cass County.
Karley Byers of the Griswold FFA chapter earned Reserve Champion honors in the FFA Breeding Doe Show before going on to win FFA Meat Goat Showmanship. Byers was also named Cass County Overall Champion Meat Goat Showman and exhibited the Cass County Supreme Champion Market Goat. Ashten Hagen of the Grant Guys and Gals 4-H Club showed the Cass County Overall Reserve Champion Market Goat.
Faithlynn Scholl will represent Cass County at the Best of the West with her Breeding Doe, and Karley Byers will represent Cass County at the Best of the West with her FFA Supreme Championship.
