(Altoona) Atlantic senior Lila Wiederstein showcased her power at the Iowa Girls Coaches Association All-Star Softball Games held Saturday at Southeast Polk Middle School.
The Blue Team was coached by Tyler Lang of Dubuque Wahlert. Each of the four all-star teams featured 13 players selected by coaches from across Iowa in recognition of their outstanding accomplishments during the 2025 season and throughout their high school careers.
Representing the Blue Team, Wiederstein blasted a home run over the center-field fence in the second game, while also providing solid defense behind the plate at catcher. The Blue Team defeated the White Team 9-0, and later dropped a 9-2 decision to the Red Team in the evening contest.
Wiederstein finished the day 3-for-6 at the plate over the two games, highlighted by her home run. For her performance, Lila is awarded the KS95.7 Armour Insurance Trojan Athlete of the Week.
In addition to Wiederstein’s performance, Atlantic Head Coach Terry Hinzmann was honored as the Iowa Girls Coaches Association Class 3A West District Coach of the Year, recognizing his leadership and the Trojans’ successful season.
