(Atlantic) The 2026 Atlantic Annual Smackdown Golf Tournament is set for August 14 and 15th. The Golf Tournament began in 2014 with a simple goal: to bring Atlantic High School alumni back together. What started as an alumni golf outing quickly became an opportunity for graduates to reconnect through friendly competition.
As interest in the tournament continued to grow, so did the event itself. The expanding number of participants led organizers to use both the Atlantic Golf & Country Club and Nishna Hills Golf Club, allowing even more alumni to take part in the annual tradition.
Kevin Ferguson, founder and tournament director, tells KSOM/KS95 News that so far, 40-plus teams have signed up for the golf outing. Ferguson says he would like to get a few more teams signed up. To register, Click Here on the Chamber of Commerce website.
Smackdown has evolved into a two-day event involving the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce. This year, a community concert is planned for August 14 at the Sunnyside Park Band Shelter. Ferguson says the Concert on Friday, August 14, is open to the community.
Food will be available, and the Atlantic Fire Department will be helping out with beverages.
Tee-off for the alumni golf tournament is at 9:00 a.m.
