The Iowa Department of Natural Resources works with public health and management agencies across the state to provide the public with the most current water quality conditions and help protect the health of beach visitors.
Beach monitoring and standard swimming advisories are generally conducted during Iowa’s primary beach recreation season, which runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Water quality results for individual beaches are published as soon as they become available.
