On Friday night, AHSTW got to the .500 mark on the season with an 8-3 win over Audubon. Freshman Kip Lamp got the start for the Vikings and went 6 innings, scattering 3 runs on 9 hits and kept the Wheelers from getting a big inning. He did not walk anybody and struck out 7. The Vikes were trailing 1-0 going to the bottom of the third inning and starting to swing the bats – the bottom four hitters went a combined four for 13 with 6 runs and 4 RBI. Lamp says he pitched with more confidence when the hits started coming
The Vikings only one four games last season so getting their 6th victory on Friday just past the halfway point means a lot says Lamp
The schedule does not get any easier with five games in the next five days– AHSTW will host Underwood Monday, they visit MVAOCOU on Tuesday, visit Fremont Mills Wednesday, host Missouri Valley Thursday and are at IKM Manning on Friday.
