(Creston) The Atlantic girls’ softball team topped Creston 8-1 at Creston on Tuesday night.
Peyton McLaren picked up the win in the circle, allowing one run on six hits, struck out seven batters, and did not allow a walk. Lila Wiederstein, London Kirchhoff, and Claire Schroder each hit home runs for the Trojans.
Atlantic Head Coach Terry Hinzmann says playing Creston is always a challenge.
The Panthers scored on a run in the bottom of the first. The Trojans tied the game in the top of the second inning, and added another run in the third, three in the fourth, and two more runs in the sixth, and another run in the top of the seventh.
Atlantic scored eight runs on six hits and committed one error. Creston scored one run on six hits and committed no errors.
The 12-2 Trojans have today off and hit the road on Thursday for a J.V. – Varsity contest at Glenwood.
