(Atlantic) Nine seniors and eight of the nine starters return for the Atlantic baseball team this season. Atlantic Head Coach Nathan Block says 28 players are on the roster for the 2026 season.
Senior Jack Muller returns on the mound for Atlantic. As a junior, Muller was named All-Conference and All-District as a pitcher, and Cale Jensen, and Hudson McLaren complement the pitching staff for the Trojans.
Keston Schmitt, a quality reliever, also returns on the hill for the Trojans, and Sawyer Tarrell is figuring into the mix as well, according to Coach Block. Gavin McLaren will pitch during the first two weeks of the season before he leaves for South Dakota State University to play football. Grant Petty and Zander Killion, both with varsity experience, also return on the hill for the Trojans.
Coach Block says when they were able to get outside, they worked on getting the fundamentals down.
Block says the other returning starters are Collin Harris at second base, Sawyer Tarrell at Shortstop, and Hudson McLaren at third. Grant Petty is figured in at Left Field, Cale Jensen, All-Conference Centerfield, and Zayden Parker in Right Field. He says Colin Rudy has experience in Right Field along with Killion. Block says two eighth-grade prospects have also earned a spot on the varsity roster, including Paxton Pross and Clayton Kelley.
The Trojans open the season at Griswold on May 18.
