(Audubon, IA) — Audubon’s track meet last night in Corning was canceled. The Boys have had just four outdoor meets this season and Tuesday’s meet only had 6 kids competing because of the FFA Convention. Head Coach Tony Konkler believes the Wheelers will be in the mix to qualify for state in several events: Sprint Medley, Distance Medley, 4×400, Kjergaard in the 800, Brody Schultes in the 400 Hurdles and the Shot Put. Konkler has two kids on the shot that are throwing well right now
Aiden Kjergaard competed in a golf meet in Neola on Tuesday and was able to make it to Atlantic just in time to run in the 800 in the CAM Classic and he finished in 2nd place. His best time this year is 2:05 even and the goal is to break two minutes in the two lapper
Brody Schultes broke 58 seconds on Tuesday in the 400 Hurdles. Konkler says they almost abandoned the event but Schultes started showing signs of going faster
Next up for Audubon will be their home meet — the Bob Clark Relays are on Tuesday. Audubon will be one of the host sites for boys and girls districts on May 14.
