Jessica Lynn Laughlin, born on August 18, 1989, in Omaha, NE, was a vibrant and adventurous spirit who touched the lives of many. She grew up in a loving home on her family’s farm east of Carson, IA, where she spent cherished time with her grandparents in Macedonia and with her close friend Kaytlin Shannon. Jessica was actively involved in high school rodeo, 4-H, FFA, and athletics, especially volleyball.
She graduated from Riverside High School in 2008 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University in 2012, majoring in Agricultural Business and International Agriculture, with a minor in French. Her education reflected both her deep agricultural roots and her desire to broaden her horizons.
Jessica built her career with CLAAS, a global agricultural company. She worked as a Territory Manager covering the southeast United States, and later advanced to the role of Product Manager in Paris, France. Through her work, she supported farmers and agricultural communities across regions, blending her farm upbringing with an international perspective and a steadfast commitment to the industry she loved.
Jessica’s love for adventure and helping others was evident in how she chose to spend her time. In 2022, she volunteered in Poland assisting Ukrainian refugees. A certified scuba diving instructor, she traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia to explore the world beneath the sea, spending significant time diving in Gili, Indonesia. She also enjoyed skydiving, horseback riding, and traveling to numerous countries in pursuit of new experiences and meaningful connections. She shared a special bond with her dogs, especially Jax.
Jessica had a generous heart and a fearless spirit. She was deeply loyal to those she loved and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She embraced life with courage, curiosity, and compassion, and her adventurous nature was matched by her genuine kindness toward others.
To reaffirm her faith, Jessica was baptized by Terry McClain on July 30, 2024.
Jessica is survived by her loving parents, Duane and Sondra Laughlin of Griswold, IA, and her brother and sister-in-law, Trevor and Sara Laughlin of New York, NY. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Merrill and Catherine Lett of Macedonia, IA, and Michael and Margaret Laughlin of Imogene, IA.
Her kindness, loyalty, and bright spirit will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
