(Cedar Falls, IA) — UNI women’s basketball added a key piece to its roster Friday, announcing the signing of sophomore transfer Callie Levin. The 5-foot-9 guard joins the Panthers after spending two seasons with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Head coach Tanya Warren praised the addition, calling Levin a strong fit for UNI’s returning group. Warren highlighted her ability to score at all three levels, defend multiple positions, and bring leadership and competitiveness to the court.
Levin saw action in 29 games during her time at Iowa, including 19 appearances last season. In limited minutes, she totaled 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Before her college career, Levin starred at Solon High School, where she scored 1,984 career points and filled the stat sheet across the board. As a senior, she averaged 22 points, 6.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 4.8 steals per game.
Her standout senior season earned her multiple honors, including Miss Iowa Basketball and USA TODAY Iowa Player of the Year. She also led Solon to a Class 3A state championship, earning All-Tournament Team recognition and being named the event’s top performer.
Levin leaves Solon as a record-holder in both career and single-season three-pointers, along with a long list of all-state and conference honors. She also competed at a high level in AAU play, winning a Nike National Championship and earning recognition as one of the top players in the state.
